Fancy offering a light commercial warranty on a folding bench, well, that's exactly what Body-Solid have done with the GFID225.
The Body-Solid GFID225 put us, GymRatZ, in an awkward situation - having always praised Body-Solid for their simple design and good build quality, we couldn't believe that they'd joined the masses and produced a folding bench. Anyway, before even considering advertising it, we ordered one into stock for a trial – expecting it to be a serious compromise compared to their other benches. I (Matt) was disappointed – it's faultless. With a welded box section mainframe, a very secure locking pin, and a ladder-style adjustment, the Body-Solid GFID225 is in many ways superior to some of the other Body-Solid benches. Better still, it comes as seen – simply roll it out of the box – making it ideal for personal trainers making home visits or someone at home with little space.
Something to be aware of, the 7-position adjustment advertised on most sites includes decline, as does the products name (FID – flat, incline, decline). The foot-rest and ladder-style adjustment would lead you to think this is possible, but realistically this is neither practical or comfortable. I would consider this bench for flat, incline, and 90deg use only. If performing decline press or reclined sit-ups is of importance from your bench, you should consider the Body-Solid GFID31 or GFID71 .

The only reason it doesn't get 10 is because when folded, it doesn't compleatly clip together (the bum part/seat does, but the upper part does not). Looks like it would have been easy to acheive this. |
