Gym Equipment
At GymRatz we have been supplying gym equipment to home users right through to some of the toughest weight training gyms and environments you could imagine.
While browsing through our home and commercial gym equipment stores you will notice our selective attitude towards the equipment and brands we sell.
Our attitude is quite simple; If we wouldn't be happy using the products ourselves then we are not happy to recommend them to anyone else. This is even more evident when it comes to selecting gym equipment for both home and commercial use. If you need any help or advice on choosing the right kit for your needs please call us. We love helping people get results, and hate to see people put off training because the equipment purchased wasn't up to the required task.
Lifting weights commands focus and confidence, neither of which can be achieved when you're wobbling around on poorly designed shonky kit!
Home Gym Equipment
Choosing the right home gym equipment for a new home gym can be a minefield of confusion even for the seasoned trainer.
Most people set up a gym at home either because the local gym is too busy after work, or they find juggling work, home and family life leaves no time to train. Either way, the huge variety of equipment available can leave you not knowing where to start.
In our Home Gym Equipment section you will find everything for from simple benches through to multi gyms, squat racks, single stations, and much more. We haven't crammed every product by every manufacturer into a huge catalogue. What we offer you is a few carefully selected brands that provide a selection of quality and price without going into the realms of the budget "superstore" brands which seem to offer a lot for the money but don't come close to the quality we would ever recommend or consider using. Time and time again we have customers approach us having tried to save money by buying budget brand gym equipment only to find it doesn't offer the strength, comfort or confidence in use to allow for effective or efficient home training.
For the same reason we wouldn't consider selling retailing a £200 treadmill we won't sell benches or other gym equipment that doesn't meet our minimum recommended standards for quality and usability.
Don't forget, we are always to hand by phone or by e-mail to help you make the right choice. No sales people, just the same trusted team as ever. :¬)

Commercial Gym Equipment
At GymRatZ we have been producing and supplying commercial gym equipment since 1999. Having provided gym solutions to commercial gyms of all sizes through out the UK and Internationally you can be sure of our dedicated and personal service in providing equipment matched to your specific needs.
Strength training is an essential part of any commercial gym, and equipment that will handle the punishment of heavy duty use is our specialltiy. Having been the designers and creators of some specialist equipment (glute ham bench and prone barbell row for London Irish Rugby Club), our kit has been cloned and copied by others, but only GymRatZ supplied kit comes with the GymRatZ name plated on the side. Imitation is the finest form of flattery so we're chuffed that you may see other copies or clones of our equipment out there.
We do of course provide other brands of commercial gym equipment as you will see, and can suggest the best equipment for a given floor area and budget. We don't have a "sales" department, just dedicated enthusiasts who's love of strength training and wealth of experience enable us to provide you with the confidence and peace of mind you deserve.
If the MOD, RAF, USAF, Police, Fire Stations, Universities, Schools & Colleges, Councils, Private and Commercial Health Clubs and Gyms, National and International Ruby and Football clubs, Off-Shore Platforms, and discerning individuals trust us for their Commercial Gym Solutions I'm sure we can offer you something special, even if it's just some free advice.

Free Weights & Storage
Free weights (Freeweights) - The original and ultimate method of building great physiques and demonstrating strength. Free weights can be created from many materials, but typically cast iron is by far the most frequently used. Cheap catalogue home use weights often take the form of bulky plastic weights filled with sand or water and hollow tube bars. Great for junior weight training, but lousy if you wish to train seriously. Olympic weights almost always used in commercial gyms and usually purchased by anyone wanting to set up a quality home gym. Dumbells (dumbbells) are a nice addition, but not essential as pretty much every muscle group can be exercised with a barbell and weights, but any decent commercial gym should have a full range of dumbells and of course weights racks and dumbell racks to keep things tidy. My tip for the home weight trainer is to snap up any 2nd hand cast weights and plates as you come across them. The cost of cast iron and steel is rising at an alarming rate and people selling their old weights are usually looking for a trivial amount of money and certainly don't appreciate the true worth of their iron! Still worth a barter even if up for a good price! ;¬) BUT if you want to buy new then we keep plenty in stock for mail order or shop collection.
