What is a neck sling used for?
General weight training doesn't usually require neck strengthening exercises specifically as trap. exercises such as shrugs or trap bar shrugs build a natural strength, however where there is more risk on head impact or external forces on the neck such as martial arts, boxing, wrestling, contact sports and physical team games like Rugby, American football etc, even Motorcross all require a greater degree of neck muscle development for which a head harness or neck sling (one and the same thing) can provide added neck specific exercises.
