An exercise bike need not be a pain, not if you invest in a recumbent bike ! Full width seat, your bodyweight is naturally supported, the back rest makes the recumbent bike the perfect exercise bike for anyone training at home who already suffers back problems. The Recumbent bike uses more quadriceps and gluteus muscle for a more powerful motion and greater calorie burn! The downsides of the recumbent bike over a regular upright bike are that the recumbent takes up a little more room as it's slightly longer though rarely much wider, and a recumbent bike is usually a bit more expensive than it's upright equivalent as there's more to it physically. Personally, I think the positives far outweigh the negatives especially for the home fitness user.

Commercial Recumbent Bikes

Commercial Recumbent Bikes

Everyone knows the upright exercise bike, but how many commercial gyms have a Recumbent Bike in their fitness equipment line-up? I've not seen many for a long while. The Commercial Recumbent Bike should be a key piece of gym equipment where there is likely to be an older average range of users, or where the gym members are using the fitness equipment to help reduce excess bodyweight. The combination of overweight and/or elderly users makes the recumbent bike the number one choice for any gym. Choosing a recumbent bike over a traditional upright bike makes so much sense as everyone can use a recumbent whereas the opposite is not the case. A recumbent may cost a little more than an upright, but it only takes a couple of new members to make up the difference in price.
