GymRatZ Sci-MX Protein Flapjack Bar Review:

I've always been a fan of High Protein Flapjacks however many on the market are so loaded with fat to bind them together they are only really suitable for folks on a high calorie diet for gaining muscle mass. This is not the case with Sci-MX Protein Flapjacks which are packed with 21g of protein and less than 300 kcal.

For a flapjack the consistency is (in my opinion) spot on. A fine balance between dry and chewy in other words I found the Sci-Mx Flapjack providing just enough "chew" to make it satisfying to eat without being hard work.

Flavour at time of writing was only Apple/Caramel which again is spot on. Not overly sweet but sweet enough to be pleasant to eat. New flavour "Orange & Berry" is yet to be tested by us in the shop as is the even newer "Yoghourt & Honey" but when we spring a box open we'll update the details.

UPDATE: OK so Yoghout & Honey has been tasted by all of us. The first few bars tasted to me a bit "wrong" that is to say, for me the taste of honey and yoghourt should be accompanied by the texture of honey and yoghourt however after a few more bars (Not on the same day I mught add) I was able to disasociate taste from texture at which point it became quite plesant. If like me you have a sweet tooth then these bars make a great replacement to a sweet snack. If you don'y like honey  due to  it's sweetness then you'd be best off sticking to either of the other two flavours.

NOTE: September 2011: Berry And Orange have been discontinued by Sci-MX but the other 2 flavours are still available and really popular.

Packed in boxes of 24 rather than the usual 12 bars per box of other protein bars means one box of Flapjacks should keep you going for a week or 2 and you shouldn't get bored of the taste. I didn't.
