G5 Home Gym from Life Fitness - Brought to you by Gym
Ratz.
I (Matt) have mentioned the Life Fitness G5 along with a couple of the new
and improved Body Solid multigyms. The G5's got a steep Life Fitness price tag,
as you may expect. But, as you'd also expect, it offers superb quality and comfort.
Also of note, the Life Fitness G5 Multigym is almost identical to their full
commercial version (albeit for the addition of weight shrouds and exercise plate)
but is available for far less. Subsequently, should any personal trainers be
reading this, a light commercial warranty is offered.
The Life Fitness G5 multigym's like putting a free standing bench (note: the
bench is f/s as it separates away from the station and so can be used with dumbells)
in the middle of a cable crossover machine. So, the exercise possibilities are
endless. My only criticism, although I'm nit-picking, would be that the top
two pulleys are narrower than I'd like, but they're still very comfortable to
use.
GYMRATZ VERDICT: An excellent multigym, with superb features and endless
exercise options. The Life Fitness G5 is displayed in store, so why not call
us to arrange a viewing - we'll be happy to demonstrate the wealth of options.
A superb addition to consider are SelectTech TurboBells. TurboBells are high
quality adjustable dumbells with far more increments and at a cheaper price
than you'd afford a dumbell set. Plus, they look really impressive against the
Life Fitness G5 Multigym. We have the TurboBells on display ideally located
alongside the Life Fitness G5. See also, the Life
Style Gym Package.
Here's a couple of quotes about the Life Fitness G5 Multigym from some recognised
names:
NationalGeographic.com, February 2006
"The epitome of the functional fitness trend, sleek Life Fitness tower
offers dozens of tough cable-pulley exercises that provide resistance across
a full range of motion, strengthening the way nature intended. The adjustable
bench lies flat for a traditional bench press but can also be moved out of the
way to make space for squats, ball exercises, simulated golf swings; and any
number of other moves. The 160-pound weight stack is upgradeable to 210-pounds,
if you really want to feel the burn."
Men's Fitness Magazine, February 2006
"The G5 not only allows...a range of presses, extensions, pulldowns, and
curls, it’s also ideal for balance and stability exercises such as one-legged
or seated stability-ball rows."
