GymRatZ Review of the York Dial Tech Dumbells:

Adjustable dumbells like these are becoming more widespread with many brands bringing out their offering. Unfortunately, most appear to have just jumped on the band wagon and haven't executed the quality produced by Bowflex with their SelectTech's, until now!

York's lower increment (2.5kg to 17.5kg) Dial Tech Dumbells offer some advantages. Firstly, I (Matt) would suggest they're of a slightly higher quality, compared to the SelectTech 221's. The price also includes a very nice stand, which is an optional extra with SelectTech Dumbells. Lastly (& best of all), the dial-up mechanism on the 17.5kg Dial Tech's is connected, therefore, you dial up one end, rather than having to dial up both ends. Dialling up both ends is forever something we have to remind customers of when trialling the SelectTech Dumbells. However, the one end dial up advantage of the York Dial Tech 17.5kg Dumbells could also be considered its disadvantage, as the dumbell head's being connected through the handle means that the increments do not follow in sequential order and the increment jumps are larger than that offered by the Bowflex SelectTech 221 Dumbells. From GymRatZ point of view, we all agree that the York Dial Tech 17.5kg Dumbells & Stand are our preferred choice.
