Quick Tips

Since I started weight training and and trying to keep myself "in shape" many years ago I have gone through various degrees of obsession with regards to both diet and exercise. From the extremes of ultimately "clean" diets and maintaining a very low bodyfat percentage through my 20's and early 30's through and including fairly extreme degrees of daily training with a combination of weights and  multiple martial arts through into my mid 30's and then cutting right back to borderline inactivity through the late 30's to early 40's partially due to business and family commitment and many aggravated injuries that are now rearing their heads since repair and recovery of body parts is a slow process once you get into "middle age" .

There's a lot of stuff I can genuinely say "been there, done that" to; and having had GymRatZ shop and web-site since the last millenium ;¬) there are a lot of questions that crop up almost daily about diet, nutrition, exercise, weight loss, muscle gain etc. that will always get the same answers.

With this in mind, it is also safe to say that there is never a "one size fits all" answer because everyone is different both physically and in their day to day activities which all need to be worked into the solution, however the fundamental details will always remain true regardless of everything else as there is no escape from the laws of nature no matter how you try to bend them. Genetics and Physics are the non-negotiable and have to be worked both with and around in order to achieve sucess as far as either will allow.

I'll try and start adding and organizing stuff as I come across it but real off-the-cuff answers to real questions rather than rulebook statements may be more appropriate as they are perhaps more likely to reflect somone elses situation.
