Made from the highest grade North American steel with a minimum tensile of 190,000 PSI, the Men's 20kgs Elite Olympic Training Bar features ferous bushings lubricated with Forway® facilitate free and constant rotation of the Olympic bar sleeves. Sleeves are finished to a precise 1.975” diameter. Bars are calibrated to Olympic specifications.

Matt writing. The first thing you'll come across when Googling the bar is CrossFit forums stating how they've managed to bend the Men's Elite Training Bar and it's inferiority to something like the Pendlay and Werksan bars. I think this is a little unfair, as the design's tried and tested and has been used in traditional weightlifting gyms for many years. The difference lies in the use/ abuse in CrossFit boxes. In a traditional weightlifting environment, overhead dropping of weights in practise is rare and it'll almost always be done on a suitable platform. For this environment, the York Barbell Elite Training Bar's superb and exceptionally nice to use alongside more expensive bars like the Pendlay and Werksan. If you're going to be dropping a heave press/ thruster from overhead though on to concrete or a 10mm gym mat, the risk of damaging a bar is high - even a great bar like the York Barbell Elite Training Bar.
