York STS Multi-Functional Rack

Review: York STS Multi-Functional Rack is a full commercial product designed to perfectly match up with the full range of STS lifting and safety racks and cages and abundant accessories. While not quite being the equivalent of our fully fabricated GymRatZ range it is far more suited to the commercial training environment than many other brands which are more suited to domestic / light commercial gyms such as hotels etc as used by non-paying clients.

So what is it about this Multi-Function rack that we like? For a start it's good looking. The uprights and weight storage, built-in chin bar and open-top for standing shoulder press etc. There is a large array of add-on accesories that fit all the York STS Racks so plenty of versatillity and multi-station performance but the Multi-Function Rack incorporates the bench stringer that allows the York Multi-Functional Bench to be locked perfectly into the rack for bench work.

So what do York say about their Multi-Function Rack?
"The York STS Multi-function Rack's is an extended version of our STS Half Rack. We expanded the versatility of the Half Rack by adding a pair of uprights complete with hook-plates 105cm (42") in front of the rear uprights creating a modifi ed Power Rack. The Multi-function Rack combines the safety aspect of the Power Rack's interior spotting arms while accommodating for every option available for use on the exterior front of the rack with the addition of the Multifunction Bench. The Multi-function Rack enables athletes to perform all of the strength exercises required by a coach/trainer safely and efficiently"

More specifics of the York STS Multi-Functional Bench as follows:

• All frames are mig welded on a jig to ensure consistent fabrication. All tubes and uprights are closed with welded end caps
• The foot plates are 57mm x 112.5mm x 12mm (thick) steel with rubber foot pads
• Frames carry a lifetime guarantee
• Both the front and rear uprights have Stainless steel hook-plates, this utilizes a safety slot design to prevent unintentional disengagement of the bar holder.
• The rear upright is adjustable to 19 positions on 7.6cm (3”) center increments accommodating a wide range of heights. The front is adjustable to 15 positions on 7.6cm (3”) center increments
• Finished in highly durable, scratch resistant, electrostatic powder coat paint. This is baked in a temperature controlled oven to completely cure and maximize the durability of the platinum sparkle finish (frame) and crinkle black (weight storage & bar holders)
• 1 x Combo Grip Pull-up Bar –28 mm knurled, solid cold rolled steel bar with 135-degree v-shape in the center for additional grip options. Set at a height of 243.8cm (8ft)
• 2 x Double Bar holders which are fully welded with replaceable plastic wear guards. These have holders on both sides so that bars can be used on the interior and exterior of the front upright or just one bar off the rear upright
• 2 x welded vertical bar holders to the rear of the rack
• 1 x Bench stringer for use with the multi-function bench (see benches)
• 12 x Cold rolled steel weight storage pegs, with plastic molded sleeves for scratch resistance (6 on each side). Holds 20/25,15, 10, 5, 2.5 and 1.25kg Olympic cast iron or ISO-Grip plates
• 2 x Interior Safety Spot Bars – connect by hookplate from front to rear upright for safety
