Pete's Reiki Page (Just for fun)
OK so what is Reiki? Well there is no point me trying to cover stuff that's been covered thousands of times before so a good place to start would be something like Google or Bing Plenty there to choose from.
So, why have I added this odd page to the web site? Well, I thought hey, why not include a supercharged page into the e-fabric of our web site to help protect and enhance the creation of the site. Crazy huh but no more crazy than getting your head around things like accupunture and chi and other non-scientific stuff.
So Here it is. A page for the site and for anyone else that likes it.
Reiki Symbols
The Reiki Symbols above are ones I drew not just the typical copied versions you'll see everywhere, but drawn by my own hand with purpose and intention. They are of course copyrighted so if "borrowing" them then a link back to this site or if used on printed media then a text reference to www.GymRatZ.co.uk would be fine. If you don't then who knows what un-fortune they will bring!! My symbols, my rules. (see intention below) !
The purpose of the "sacred" symbols is generally accepted as a way of focusing the mind and intention onto a particular aspect or purpose to which the energy is being put to use however as they are all generally used in combination or all at once (Exception being the "master" symbol). They are often referred to in a similar way as the stabilizers (traing wheels) of a bike. Once you have become familiar with the workings and principles not just of Reiki but energy work in general you realise the symbols are a helping hand rather than being all-powerful. They help focus the "intention" and any reiki practitioner will tell you "it's all about intention".
Reiki Master Symbol
The master symbol I have drawn above is one that is not used with traditional Usui Reiki however it is used with many of the alternative versions of reiki. My own particular path of following lead me to Reiki Tummo (Kundalini) which is more about using external reiki and combining it with internal energy from the awakened Kundalini.... for spiritual growth and cleansing not just from a "healing" point of view... more of that on the above link though.
One day I'll try and draw the missing symbols but there are thousands of images all over the Internet if you are interested.
Distance Reiki
Why can one charge for something that is not physical? Well some believe an exchange of energy has to take place for something to be accepted. Same way you'd pay a window cleaner £10 to clean your windows or a car hand wash. The practitioner must set aside time to "send" healing energies so 30 or 60 minutes of anyone's time is worth no less than another's.
Easiest way to understand what it's about is thinking of "the power of prayer" if you pray to your own chosen deity (God, supreme being etc) then I suppose reiki is a more direct approach but very similar in the way it "works" . Oh, there is of course a "distance symbol" but it's the most complicated one to draw and can be "stacked" on it's self i.e. drawn in the same spot rather than drawn (written" from top down, so I need plenty more practice to get a pretty version. But as with all symbols if the intention of the produced symbol is the same the actual "picture" of the symbol doesn't have to be precise nor particularly accurate in my opinion. Others may have different views though.
As I mentioned, main purpose was for the web site but then I thought I'd pass on the benefits. Also seeing if I can get a single page on a non-relevant site listed anywhere in Google etc.
